    Absolutely fantastic general purpose lens. Great for portraits, close-ups and general purpose photography. I have taken some excellent close-up photos with this lens. Can get close enough with this lens to see the stamens on flowers and pollen on bee's legs. It's too bad that Cannon decided to quit making this wonderful little baby telephoto, the 28mm-105mm does not have nearly the quality of this lens plus at 4 times the price because of the IS (image stabilizer) it is not worth it.
